Have you ever had someone who you loved hanging out with, they made a great friend, but you didn't give them a chance to have their needs met too. I'm talking a platonic relationship, and I talking about having someone who you could spill your guts to. Well I have/had someone like that in my life and now I'm worried about them. They came to me for help and I enjoyed their company maybe too much and I monopolized their time, maybe too much. Interesting thought, thank God, God's in charge because I would screw it up in a red hot minute.
I had a sponsor who used to say, "Do you want to be right, or do you want to be happy?" It took me a while to choose happy and today I automatically choose happy, right off the bat.
I still exercise my options on occasion to choose my ego over God. I have no excuse, it's just that some days I'm already asleep and I don't bother to check in with God, I'm lazy. Ain't that the shit's!
Well, on that bright note, I shall leave you with one of my favorite quotes from A Course in Miracles
Perfect love casts out fear.
If fear exists,
Then there is not perfect love.
But:
Only perfect love exists.
If there is fear,
It produces a state that does not exist.
Believe this and you will be free. Only God can establish this solution, and this faith is His gift.
